Climate Change Table

As the centerpiece of the Australian Museum’s exhibition on Climate Change, this gigantic touch-sensitive map of Australia consists of 139 different interactive actors and over an hour of bespoke animation.

As production lead and technical artist/animator on this project, I was responsible for managing a team of artists and programmers while also taking an active role in production. I created all of the materials/shaders, particle effects, roughly 60% of the animated assets, and brought it all together using Unity’s Universal Render Pipeline.

The experience featured many different unique interactions, each with its own animation and visual effects requirements. Here are some examples.

The exhibit was launched on the 28th of November, 2020 as part of the Museum reopening.
